Why I became a gentle sleep coach (and why it matters to you)
I've been in your shoes - experiencing the roller coaster of conflicting advice, sleepless nights, and the relentless pressure to "do it properly."
When my first baby was just a few months old, I found myself desperately trying to help her fall asleep and stay asleep in the evenings.
Out of hope and exhaustion, I visited my health visitor, seeking advice and reassurance.
I vividly recall being told, “Feed her, burp her, clean nappy, put her in her cot…she’ll sleep…if you’ve done it properly.”
Those words still echo in my mind, even nearly twenty-five years later!
It felt like unless I followed every prescribed step flawlessly, sleep was unattainable.
I remember thinking, “But I’m sure I do all of that!”
But I went home with fresh determination to try harder.
And I did.
Yet she still took hours to settle, only to wake again shortly after.
Those words - “if you’ve done it properly” - clung to me like a shadow, making me believe I was failing as a mum.
That self-doubt and despair fueled my determination to help other parents break free from the guilt and pressure of 'perfect parenting' and instead find sleep solutions that truly work for their unique family.
How my journey led me to sleep coaching
When my childminder had to stop suddenly due to health issues, I found myself juggling a baby, a toddler, and work.
Out of necessity, I registered as a childminder - what started as a practical solution quickly became a passion for supporting families.
As I worked with families in different roles, childminder, event childcare provider, and early education professional, I witnessed firsthand how sleep struggles affect not just babies, but the entire family dynamic.
Training as a sleep coach was the natural next step, equipping me with the knowledge and tools to provide truly personalised, gentle sleep support.
If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that sleep isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Every baby is different, and what works for one won’t necessarily work for another.

Yes, it is a long way and yes, it did very nearly finish me off!
This personal journey, combined with my OCN Level 6 Holistic Sleep Coach certification (one of the highest qualifications in the field), means I can offer you expert, evidence-based, and judgment-free support tailored to your family’s needs.
As a mum of four, I’ve been through the overwhelm of conflicting advice, the self-doubt, and the endless ‘shoulds’ around baby sleep.
